Gervota Davis claims new deal makes him richer than Floyd Mayweather Jr. at this stage of career: 'I passed him'

“I’m at the point where I passed him and I’m doing it at a young age. When Floyd Mayweather was 29 [he wasn’t doing it like me], you’ll see. That [6-7 fight] deal that I was talking about, that’s bigger than his [Mayweather’s six-fight] deal [that Floyd had with Showtime in 2013], and I’m just releasing it on here,” Davis said.

Davis has plenty of names he could fight to justify a big deal. He has a possible fight with Shakur Stevenson at 135. Shakur holds the WBC Lightweight Title, allowing Davis to unify since he has the WBA belt. There is also the chance to face the winner of Vasiliy Lomachenko and George Kambosos Jr. who face off this month for the vacant IBF belt. 

Tank could also move up to 140 and fight several big names. He has been linked with Devin Haney. They have a history, as Ryan Garcia leaked some sparring footage showing Davis dominating him. There is also a possible fight with Teofimo Lopez and Ryan Garcia. Davis spoke about the Garcia rematch following Ryan’s recent failed VADA tests for Ostarine.

Davis vs. Garcia

Davis has backed Garcia’s claim that he is innocent after Ryan’s urine samples showed the presence of Ostarine. Ostarine helps fighters lose fat and increase muscle and stamina. There are also reports that Ryan may have had 19-norandrosterone in his system. But this requires further testing. Should Garcia clear his name, Davis is ready to run things back at 140. 

“145? He’s not even at 145. Why can’t it be at 140? I’ll fight him at 140,” Davis stated.

That is unlikely to happen. Garcia has admitted he can no longer make junior welterweight. Garcia came 3.2 pounds over the limit for the Haney fight. He also admitted that he would like to move up to 147 or even 154 pounds, showing that he sees himself at a higher weight. Garcia is also unlikely to accept a rehydration clause, something Davis is known for using against bigger fighters. Since Garcia has a bigger following, there would be question marks over who the A-side is. But before anything can be considered, Garcia must clear his name.
