Gervonta Davis came face-to-face with Devin Haney, as both fighters almost came to blows.

Davis is preparing to box Frank Martin on June 15 to defend his WBA Lightweight Title. He has not boxed since stopping Ryan Garcia last year. Davis served 44 days in jail for breaking his house arrest conditions over a hit-and-run. Meanwhile, Garcia bounced back with his biggest career win, beating Haney. Garcia’s failed VADA test for Ostarine has now cast doubt over that win. Garcia must prove his innocence, or he could face a ban and have the result overturned.

Davis has defended Garcia, saying he believes he is innocent. Tank has also been trolling Haney over that loss. Before the Garcia fight, team Haney was accusing Davis of ducking him. They were both at 135, but Haney had to move up to 140. Team Haney called on Davis to move up to 140 and face him without a rehydration clause.

The fight could happen later down the line. Davis revealed that he has a 6-7 fight deal worth more than Floyd Mayweather’s 2013 deal that he signed with Showtime. The Mayweather deal was worth $200 million. To build up his fight with Martin and the Haney fight, Davis pulled up on team Haney. He first pictured himself alongside Haney’s truck, trolling the fighter. That was then followed up by an in-person interaction. The following footage shows Davis firing verbal shots at Haney, who responds and then gets in his truck. Both men were separated by their security as things then de-escalated.

Davis vs. Haney

The chances of the Davis-Haney fight happening soon are slim. Haney’s loss to Garcia has questions over his career. Even if it turns into a no-contest, the defeat shows flaws in Haney’s game. He failed to adjust, getting hit by the same left hook. Since Davis had beaten Garcia so comfortably, it showed Davis could harm Haney if he landed his left hand.

Davis has also sparred with Haney before. Before the Haney-Garcia fight, King Ry leaked the sparring footage showing Tank dominating Haney. Haney is also a non-puncher, meaning Davis can close the distance once he removes The Dream’s jab. Haney also showed that he could not take a shot, as he never recovered after he got dropped by Garcia. While he needs to rebuild himself, Haney has no interest in facing Garcia again.

Haney On Garcia

“Honestly I’m not too interested in it. During the build-up we’ve seen a lot of interesting things from him. We’ve seen his character, we’ve seen the guy cheat, we’ve seen the person that he is. I don’t see myself ever getting back in the ring [with him], but I’m a fighter speaking right now about how I feel, we never know what the future holds.

“As of right now, it wouldn’t be a fight I would entertain. As I said, this guy showed his character, he showed that he would do anything to win, including cheat, that’s just reality. Boxing is just a sport at the end of the day. He put my life in jeopardy. So now it’s deeper than boxing with me. I wanna take this thing somewhere else now. He could’ve done some real dangerous things to me that night,” Haney said
