Knicks Donte DiVincenzo Takes Shot at Pacers Myles Turner
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

New York Knicks shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo and Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner were involved in one of the dustups between the teams in Game 5. In what was a physical game from the start, things got chippy at points with players having face-to-face confrontations on more than one occasion.

In the middle of all of them was Donte DiVincenzo. In the first half, a hard screen was set by Isaiah Jackson on the Knicks guard. An offensive foul was called, but some of DiVincenzo’s teammates took exception to the hit.

Isaiah Hartenstein came to his defense and got into the face of Jackson. He also put his hand on his neck, shoving him away. Both were assessed technicals along with Alec Burks, who on video replays it is shown he didn’t do anything but try and remove Hartenstein from the situation.

With 4:27 remaining in the third quarter and the Knicks holding a 22-point lead, another incident occurred. This time, it was Donte DiVincenzo involved in another screen being set by Myles Turner. Some words were exchanged, and a double-technical was assessed to each player.

After the game, DiVincenzo spoke about the incidents on the court. He called out the Pacers and Myles Turner, saying they are trying to be something they are not on the court.

“They were trying to be tough guys. That’s not their identity.…Nobody’s gonna fight in the NBA. Take the foul, keep it moving. You’re not a tough guy, just keep it moving,” DiVincenzo said, via Ian Begley on X.

You can expect emotions to be running high during Game 6 on Friday night. The Knicks will be looking to eliminate the Pacers from the 2024 NBA Postseason. Donte DiVincenzo and Myles Turner are going to be needed by their respective teams to help pull out a victory.
