Colts' Anthony Richardson reportedly 'progressing really well' in rehab

ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler has delivered promising news for Indianapolis Colts fans, indicating that quarterback Anthony Richardson is back at full strength.

Richardson’s recovery from a shoulder injury sustained in Week 5 of the 2023 season has been nothing short of remarkable, with the young QB making significant strides in his rehabilitation process.

Here is what Fowler had to report on the Colts’ young quarterback looking ahead to the 2024 season.

“This is progressing really well. I’m told Richardson feels he’s full go at this point. He’s been throwing for a while now. He’s gradually grown to where he can throw full time with minimal restrictions. The Colts could be deliberate. They could hold him out for OTAs, 11-man work, minicamp, but the feeling is he wants to get started.”

Following an injury to his throwing shoulder last year, Richardson underwent a procedure to address the AC joint issue in late October. This unfortunate setback cut short his rookie campaign in the NFL, leaving Colts supporters eager to see more from the highly-touted fourth-overall draft pick.

Despite his limited playing time in 2023, Richardson showcased glimpses of his talent during his brief appearances on the field. In just four starts, he managed to tally an impressive seven total touchdowns, displaying both his athleticism and potential to become a legitimate star for the Colts.

Now, with his recovery progressing smoothly and confirmation from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that he is “full go,” Richardson appears poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming 2024 season.

As Richardson prepares to take the reins as the Colts’ QB1 once again, anticipation is building among fans and analysts alike. With his combination of arm talent, mobility, and football IQ, he has the tools necessary to thrive in the NFL and lead Indianapolis back to playoff contention.

While injuries are an unfortunate reality in the NFL, Anthony Richardson’s swift recovery and determination to bounce back stronger than ever are a clear picture of drive for success. Indianapolis Colts fans can now look forward to seeing their young quarterback back in action to start the 2024 season.
