Ravens Top Edge Rusher Visits Jets
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets may have come in with more cap space than the Baltimore Ravens, but they haven't been shy of bringing in several of their top players on both sides of the ball.

New York signed former Ravens left guard John Simpson in free agency, and have traded for right tackle Morgan Moses. Now, it appears Gang Green is looking to address the edge rusher hole on the roster.

And another Raven seems to be the perfect choice.

Jadeveon Clowney, the former first overall pick of the Houston Texans and three-time Pro Bowl edge rusher, is visiting the Jets Wednesday to see if the two sides can come to terms on an agreement that would send the former South Carolina product to his sixth different team through his NFL career.

While 31, Clowney provided an excellent spark for a Ravens defense that set an NFL record for being the first organization to lead the league in points allowed, turnovers, and sacks. For his part, Clowney recorded 9.5 sacks - tied for the most in his NFL career.

Baltimore has several needs along their franchise at the current moment. Their offensive line needs to be addressed, another receiver must be added, and the defensive line is devoid of consistent pass rushers outside of Justin Madubuike and his career season in 2023.

It would make a lot of sense for the Ravens to try and bring Clowney back to the team for the 2024 season - as long as the price tag fits what the organization can give.

If they can't come to a deal though, teams like the Jets will be more than willing to get a deal done in the immediate future.
